2020. Seedsculptures (earth, clay, seeds), ceramics, stainless steel. 1 x 160 cm, 1 x 120 cm.

This work is a persecution of Le Vrai Fake. I started feeling guilty by taking away a stone from its origins. While I was searching for explanations for this bizarre sentiment towards a stone, I got intrigued through its genesis. I decided to turn my guilt into motivation and dig deeper into the history of it.

I started reproducing the dried stone I found in the Atlas with earth, clay and seeds. They will bloom once they come in contact with water. The installation shows an irrigation system which can be set alive through pouring water.

With this work I want to highlight the problem of desertification. Desertification is the expansion or creation of deserts resulting from climate change and erosion through poor landscape management. Every year water stress threatens villages throughout Morocco by slowly creating inhabitable areas. One of the strategies to protect the land from drying out, or even to restore a desert landscape, is to grow forests.
